Have a Lush Christmas!

Yes I know, it’s only October, but our favourite Lush seasonal products are back on the shelves! There are even se new products that are going on my Christmas List!

I was lucky enough to be asked along to the Lush Stirling Christmas event on Friday to check out the new arrivals.

One thing that always gets me when I walk into a Lush store (apart from the smell!) has to be how colourful it all is! Stirling of course was no exception, and their Christmas displays were adorable.
IMG_5778.JPGIMG_5753.JPGIMG_5760.JPGIMG_5759.JPGIMG_5755.JPGAnd one of my absolute favourites is back! Good old Snow Fairy! As well as the same scent in a few different forms. They also had Christmas edition FUN so you can make a cute snowman from the mouldable soap! I also picked up a Santa Baby tinted lip balm, which I missed out on last year, and some butter bear bath bombs. IMG_5763.JPGIMG_5758.JPGIMG_5754.JPGIMG_5756.JPGI got some lovely goodies, both from Lush Stirling (you bunch of sweethearts!) and for myself (it’s good to treat yourself!)
IMG_5777.JPGIMG_5729.JPGIMG_5776.JPG
I’m a total sucker for vanilla so I’m looking forward to slathering on the vanilla dee-lite body lotion and sinking into a butter bear bubble bath! Snowcake soap is so creamy that I actually use it for shaving!
I bought the Northern Lights Bath Bomb, which has tiny stars in it and is supposed to put on a pretty good show! Snow Fairy shower gel is a no brainer for me! It’s a big favourite amongst Lush shoppers, and I’m one of the ones that stocks up on this sweet smelling delight at Christmas for the rest of the year! Santa Baby is a tinted lip balm that I missed out on last year. I love my red lipstick, but with the weather getting colder, a lip balm will be needed. Rose Jam is a shower gel with a similar scent to Prince Charming, a valentine seasonal product. Since I didn’t stock up on it, I’m giving rose jam a go! I’ve heard it can be used as shampoo too! Last is Strawberry Feels, a strawberry massage bar. I love the Lush massage bars, and with my silly ideas of tough mudders and triathlons, the soothing massage bars are a real treat.

Have you checked out the new Lush Christmas products? What are your favourites?

Buenos Dias!

Hola my little bloggerinos!

Since my last post a LOT has happened!

I completed the Cairngorm Adventure Triathlon (and didn’t come last!) then the next day my fella and I set off for Calella, a lovely town in Catalonia. It was a chance for us to relax after a busy year, and before all the stresses of Christmas set in.

It was a week full of giant piña coladas, mashup playlists and flip flops every day.
IMG_5245.JPG
We visited Barcelona and took in some of the sights on an open top bus which was lovely. We’ll definitely be going back to spend more time there!

Thanks to our extremely limited luggage allowance (and my laziness) my holiday looks were pretty simple! Here are just a few…

Clutches to get your hands on

I don’t think I’ll be alone in saying that us girls tend to carry around a bit more than can fit in our pockets (if we have them)

In fact, I’m not even sure some of the handbags I carry would even pass for hand luggage on those budget airlines, with an almost certain excess baggage weight charge! My back and shoulders will likely be broken by the time I’m 30.

In an effort to downsize, I’ve been looking for some of the niftiest clutch bags you’ll want to get your hands on!

The winner for me was this beauty from Lola and Me, a fun company based in Wales designing Textiles and homewares by Heidi-Lou. I love how fun and bright their designs are, and I’ve already snapped this one up!

Lola and Me Beatrice Folded Clutch – £25 (on sale)

These were my close runners up!

Those Summer Time Blues

Aloha from sunny Stirlingshire!

It has been a very busy month or so for me, and sadly that has meant not much time for my little blog. However, after attending the Scotstreetstyle Gathering in Glasgow on Saturday and a few recent exciting projects, I’m back on it again! I’ve rediscovered my creative mojo and it’s pretty darn exciting!

So before I go on with posts about Styling, Tough Mudder, The Gathering, a cheeky hair change and the build up for my first time at T in the Park, I’ll share my little outfit of the day!

3 4 7  25

Sunglasses – Honour Over Glory

Necklace – Primark

Dress – Dunnes

Bracelet – BlackTied  (currently doing 2 free midi rings with all orders over £10!)

Bag – Bessie at TK Maxx

Shoes – Next

Today was really rather hot in sunny Falkirk (that is actually true, I feel like it should be sarcasm!) and as I woke up on my day off I saw the cloudless blue sky through my blinds and decided it was time to get summery! My mother dearest had bought a dress from Dunnes a while back and decided she didn’t like it on her, so gave it to me to see if I liked it. I wasn’t so sure at first, but I have to say, I feel rather fabulous in it! It’s so light and bright! It also went well my attempted home tanning which, thank goodness, has faded from a ghastly shade of tangerine. Since I was going Silver with the accessories I dug out my spiked heels from Next. These were my first platform heels that I got when I was 18! They’ve lasted well! I wore my Honour Over Glory sunglasses and Black Tied “The Possibilities are Endless” bracelet to give me a bit of encouragement since I had a rather important meeting to attend for a super secret project I’m working on!

My outfit choice today, I felt not only made me look good, but it made me feel good.

And that’s what I believe fashion is all about!

The Cat’s Meow

20140512-142653.jpg

Most of my fellow Scots will be aware that our summers only last a few days at best. As soon as the temperature hits double digits, it’s windows down and taps aff! In my optimism, I decided to treat myself to a pair of sunnies from ASOS, in the cat eye style that I’d fancied trying for a while.

As a lady who wears glasses, I’ve always felt quite restricted in the sunglasses I could wear. Yes, I was that weirdo with the giant sunglasses on top of my normal glasses. Until I started wearing contacts last month! I feel like a new woman, and the possibilities are endless. So I decided to treat myself to these glittery cat eye numbers, and I’ve had so many compliments on them! For only £4.50 they were a total bargain!

Wednesday Window Shop

So payday has come and gone, the bills are paid, but sadly what’s left isn’t enough to splurge!

So these are my online shopping picks of the week!

20140428-213210.jpg
“The Schizo” sunglasses by UNIF have me all in a tizzy. So many options! I love the shape of them, and the interchangeable parts are perfect! Might have to do some sweet talking for my birthday!

20140429-181713.jpg
This beautiful ASOS reclaimed vintage dress is a bit more risqué than I would normally go for with the cut outs but I think it’s absolutely gorgeous. Bit more gym time required before I could go out in it though I think!

20140429-183325.jpg
these pointed heels from ASOS are not my usual taste. Pointed toes are not my favourite, but I think these look so elegant. In a variety of colours, I can see me wearing these with a dress for a night out, or some jeans for a day out.

20140429-185122.jpg
This River Island jumpsuit looks exactly like what I’ve been after for a while. There are so many around that just look cheap, but I think this one seems classy. Would go perfect with the blue heels!

20140430-120759.jpg
A statement necklace would look perfect here, and Wear Eponymous have the perfect one! This would look great with the jumpsuit and heels above. Perfect with a lain tshirt or vest during the day or that simple dress at night.

Happy Wednesday!

Wednesday Window Shop Pink Edition

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Mean Girls, and since it’s Wednesday, this week’s Wednesday Window Shop is all about pink! So get in loser, we’re going shopping!

20140430-121511.jpg
this ASOS midi pencil skirt would look great dressed down with a tshirt and some flats, or with a dressier top for evening.

20140430-121941.jpg
Go for some sports luxe with these Nike Airmax trainerswether to wear out and about, or for a gym session!

20140430-123009.jpg
this Coco and Cleo check shift dress would look great with a sleeveless shirt under it to get the collared look which is going around just now.

20140430-124044.jpg
These pink River Island sunglasses will be perfect just in case Regina George punches you in the face. It might be awesome, but at least you could cover that black eye!

20140430-130830.jpg
This Ted Baker bag would be perfect if you need bit more room when you’re hair is so big and full of secrets.

So stay fetch, and remember, on Wednesdays we wear pink.

Wednesday Window Shop

So pay day is so close I can almost smell it. It smells of a trip to lush and a cheeky Nando’s for lunch and I can’t wait!

Once again I’ve been trawling through the new arrivals (and some not so new!) to see what I’d be spending my hard earned pennies on if they’d already landed in my purse.

20140422-200338.jpg
This cute little collared dress from Coco and Cleo is first on my list. I like a collar, and the contrast of it between the soft flowy material and the sharp white collar is really appealing to me.

20140423-121229.jpg
This bag by Pamela Barsky has me down to a tee. I have organisation apps, a planner, a diary, lists and pouches for everything. But nothing lives where it should and 9 times out of 10 these things only make me look organised. This pouch bag is cute, and she has so many other great designs. “You will never convince me macaroni and cheese is not a vegetable” is another favourite.

20140423-124549.jpg
This dress by Fearne Cotton for Very is pretty gorgeous. It could be dressed up with some heels and a clutch, or dressed down with black tights and boots. The grey and neon adds a different twist to the usual florals, so it keeps it interesting.

20140423-222404.jpg
These high waisted trousers from ASOS would be perfect for either day or night time. The colour is on trend for spring/summer and will brighten up even a plain outfit. Match with a plain white crop and some low top chucks for daytime, or some heels and a came/statement necklace for a dressier look.

20140423-222804.jpg
Now maybe I’m a bit late to the party, but I love this Coco and Cleo necklace! I seem to be seriously lacking statement necklaces, and this one has been in my sights for a while now! I love how bold it is, and the quirkiness of it. It is available in quite a few different colours, and with matching earrings, so now I need to make the colour decision too!

So now I’m counting down the hours until my bank balance isn’t quite so sad, and until then, I’ll keep scrolling and sighing!

Wednesday Window Shop

So it’s getting to that time of the month where pay day is in sight and it’s beans on toast for dinner (blame too many birthdays, my little shopping trip and my upcoming trip to Musselburgh races)

I am a bit of a payday millionaire. It’s shopping and prosecco for the first few days and then I’m pretty much out once all the bills come off. Being a 20 something living alone certainly isn’t cheap!

I can’t help but have a little window shop to keep me going, and these are the pieces I’ve got my eye on this week!

Image

This gorgeous dress from Wear Eponymous would be great for the office or a night out. You can’t go wrong with a bit of monochrome, and the collar detail looks great.

Image

This clutch also from Wear Eponymous has a classic look, and I’m really liking structured bags just now! I’ve never been one for clutches, but the handle on this makes it look like one I’d definitely use.

Image

These printed trousers from Zara would look great either casual or for a dressier occasion. Yet again sticking with the monochrome, but a bit of pattern gets me in the mood for summer!

Image

One a brighter note, this floral scuba skirt from ASOS is absolutely gorgeous! The vibrant colours in the print are stunning, and will look great throughout the summer. I’d wear this with a simple tshirt or cami with a statement necklace and some wedge sandals.

Image

These T bar platform shoes from River Island have me pretty much head over heels! The pastel colour is perfect for Spring/Summer.

What do you think? Have you got any pre-planned payday purchases already?

So much for the shopping ban!

Well I tried. I didn’t last 3 days into April and I’ve already been on a little shopping spree! I can’t help myself!

So last week before starting my buying ban, I bought myself a treat from Naromode, a clothing company from Glasgow that I really quite love! I’ve been eyeing up their collection for a while and decided it was time I had some of my own! I went for the Bee box tshirt and I absolutely LOVE it! This was how I styled it for the first outing!

20140406-183243.jpg

Tee – Naromode
Skirt – Matalan
Boots – New Look
Coat and scarf from this post.

The tshirt was a bit shorter than I expected, but it still fits me fine! I got a medium, or a 12 just to be safe! It’s lovely quality and I’m really happy with it. I’ve had so many compliments on it already!

I’ve got my eye on a few of the scarves in their new collection, and I’ll certainly be doing some sweet talking for my birthday coming up! The moth, sparrow, apple and floral are a few of my favourites!

Here’s a little preview of some of my other purchases:

So I’m away to hide my bank card so I stop spending! (Sleep spending is also a very real thing!)
